SMART Media: What is Media?

Today we started learning about media. We talked about what media is and what types of media we consume on a daily basis. We noticed that lately there has been lots of billboards around our town and that these are are a type of media too. We then created our own media showing what we have been interacting with.
Here are some of our creations.

 

 

 

Fairy Tale Coding with Scratch Junior

LEARN: We are learning about computational thinking by coding using Scratch Junior.

We know how to choose a background, choose characters and to use many of the Motion Blocks to make our characters move.

CREATE: Today our mission was to create a Fairy Tale scene. We needed to have at least 3 different scenes. Our character needed to be jumping. To do this we learned about the Motion Hop Block. We also learned how to use a loop block to repeat the action. We learned about ending each scene with a Go To Page End Block which makes our story change scenes to the next slide/page.

My holiday

LEARN: We have been learning how to use the voice recorder on Explain Everything. 

CREATE: We drew a picture of something we did during the holidays using the drawing tools we already know how to use. Then we recorded ourselves talking about it. The easy part was drawing the picture. The tricky part was not making a mistake when recording our voices.
